Help us support chiropractic research
At Haavik Research we want to raise $50,000, so the Centre for Chiropractic Research team can do what they do best and get these studies across the line! In addition, we are raising $35,000 per year, per PhD student – we need all the help we can get.
Please, please, please help us raise $50,000 to donate to the New Zealand College of Chiropractic and make these awesome studies happen.
Our first sponsored PhD student
We have finally raised enough funds to sponsor our first PhD student with $35,000 NZD! This has been awarded to Dr Tanja Glucina.
Tanja is a chiropractor with over 20 years of clinical practice experience and is a single mother of three great kids. She is now doing her full time PhD while also juggling part time work at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic to be able to pay her rent and feed the kids. This is no easy task!!!
Tanja’s PhD thesis work is really exciting! She is exploring contemporary chiropractic practice and using outcome measures to identify different chiropractic subtypes and patient health outcomes. Her doctoral project work utilises mixed methods research, meaning she has both a qualitative and a quantitative phase. Her first study of the qualitative phase examines how chiropractic practitioner perceive their professional identity, their practice philosophy and practice objectives. Study two of this phase investigates how chiropractic patient perceive the chiropractic profession, it’s identity and its practises. For the second part of her PhD work, the quantitative phase, she investigates whether practitioner professional identity subtypes (identified from study 1) has any effects on patient outcomes in an observational based research setting using patient reported outcome measures.
I’m so excited to see where this research takes us!
